Taekwon-Do Etiquette

When Addressing An Instructor

  1. You should always bow before addressing the instructor.
  2. You should always address the instructor either by "Sir" or "Madam".
  3. When giving or receiving anything from the instructor remain in the attention stance and use BOTH hands to give/accept the item.
  4. You should remain in the attention stance.
  5. When leaving the instructor you should bow and take three steps back before turning away from him.

Entering and Leaving Training Hall

  1. When ever you enter or leave the training hall you should bow to the instructor and to the ITF flag.
  2. You should only ever enter or leave the training hall with the instructors permission.
  3. You should always ensure that you come prepared with all necessary equipment IN the training hall.

Training Hall Regulations

  1. Smoking is prohibited
  2. Refrain from swearing and idle chatter
  3. Alcoholic beverages, soft drinks or food are not allowed in the training hall
  4. Wearing shoes is prohibited (unless you have a foot infection)
  5. No one is allowed to teach without the instructor's permission
  6. No one is allowed to leave class without the instructor's permission
  7. Official do bok must be worn during class
